In 1968 Jerry
Bradley of Solo Society bought a cherry red Riveria from Hewitts Music in
Dearborn. It had the sweetist tone and no matter what you played it sounded
like the Byrds. I always wanted one so I picked up this newer version (an '03).
This is a much heavier guitar that I remember and even though it was new it
still needed some work. I changed out the pickups to Duncans, and took off the
pickguard. For some reason the guitar comes with a tailpiece that only had
channels for 6 strings. It was very hard to tune with 2 strings grinding
against each other so I installed up a tailpiece that had 12 seperate holes and
now I'm very happy with the guitar. A little adjustment here and there makes a
big difference. |
