I picked up this
guitar in 1975 from Wonderland Music. It was designated a second because the
finish had lots of spider web cracking. It's called Cold Checking. I thought it
looked cool. I played it about 5 times and at a gig in Toledo Ohio, it fell
over (it was in the case) while we were on load out. I thought nothing of it.
My SG, while in it's case, has fallen down a flight of stairs and was run over
by our equipment van without concequence. We arrived in Pittsburg and I found
that the neck was broken at the head. I put the guitar in it's case with the
idea of sending it off to Gibson for repair but never did it. I left it in the
case for 31 years before getting it repaired. It used to be white and now it's
a very mellow yellow. I play it a lot in the studio. It's kind of nice to have
a vintage guitar in new condition. |
